Introducing tinydot.Words
· 1 min read
An empty row, five letters, and a first guess. That's all you need to begin tinydot.Words, our daily word game.
You have six tries to find a five-letter word. Each guess gives you a little more information, until a pattern emerges and the next word starts to look obvious. Sometimes.
Follow the colours#
Enter a real five-letter word using your keyboard or the keys on screen. After each guess, the tiles show how close you are:
- Green: the letter is in the right place.
- Amber: the letter is in the word, but belongs somewhere else.
- Grey: there isn't a matching letter left in the answer for that tile.
That last detail matters when you guess the same letter twice. One tile can be green or amber while the other is grey if the answer only contains one copy.
A little each day#
A new puzzle arrives at midnight in your local time. Everyone playing the same calendar day's puzzle gets the same word.
You can leave halfway through and come back. Your guesses are saved in this browser, along with your games played, win rate, streak, and guess distribution. No sign-up required.
When you've finished, share your result as a grid of coloured squares. It shows the path you took without giving away the letters, so someone else can still have their turn.
Make your first guess#
Play on your phone or at your desk. Try a favourite opening word, follow a hunch, or spend a little longer on that last guess. Tomorrow brings another puzzle.
