Introducing tinydot.Ideas

· 1 min read

A thought arrives while you're doing something else. A name for a project, a question you want to explore, a small thing you might build someday. You write it down, then forget where you put it.

tinydot.Ideas gives those thoughts a home. Add a title, write as much or as little as you need, and leave it there. You can decide what comes next later.

Start with one thought#

Press New idea and capture what's on your mind. Choose a category such as A thought, Someday, A question, or An experiment. You can also create a category of your own.

Each idea has a page where you can read it without the rest of the shelf competing for your attention. When you want to set something aside, move it to Resting. It stays available to revisit.

Find a way back#

A collection becomes useful when you can return to it. There are a few ways to do that:

  • Search for a word you remember from an idea.
  • Rediscover to bring back a random idea, including one from your resting shelf.
  • Graph to see your ideas grouped around their categories.

Sometimes you'll know exactly what you're looking for. Sometimes seeing an old thought again is enough to get you started.

Keep a copy#

Your ideas are saved in this browser, with no account required. Use Export to download a JSON backup. Import brings ideas into another browser or device, adding new entries without replacing existing ones.

If you're moving from the old Unfinished domain, export your ideas there first and import them at the new address. Each domain has its own browser storage.
